We offer freshly sterilised substrate here in a small cultivation bag with an inoculation channel.
The substrate should be inoculated with approx. 7–10 ml of liquid culture. One culture syringe is therefore sufficient for 2–3 substrate bags.
The colonised substrates can then either be mixed with further (homemade) substrate, or you can simply grow mushrooms, use the mushroom caps for the spore cap method described in Lilli’s cultivation e-book, or consume them for therapeutic purposes.
We have 3 small methods for inoculation (the first video shows how – you can inoculate up to 3 sachets with a single culture syringe!):
- Pure grains (approx. 200ccm)
- Grains with water beads (approx. 300 cc)
- Grains with coconut fibres (approx. 300 ccm)
The first option is only suitable for mixing with the larger bag of substrate.
The large bag (approx. 1200g and 2200ccm) cannot be inoculated directly, but is mixed with one of the small bags (the second video shows how) and then many mushrooms will grow in the bag. Once the mushrooms start to grow, you should briefly air the bag 2–3 times a day. After harvesting, you can water the substrate to obtain and harvest several more crops.
Please note: You should only order the large bag once you have a well-developed spawn, i.e. approximately 7 days after inoculating the spawn, when it looks healthy. Alternatively, you can store it in the freezer until it is needed.
The large bag is supplied with a seal that closes airtight and is secured after mixing (see video).
