Fresh mushrooms stay good for 4 days. Dry them and you can keep them for up to a year.

This can easily dry out the mycelium cake.
Also suitable for truffles, herbs, berries and even socks.

- Switch on and spread the fresh mushrooms (directly on the mat or put on a dishcloth).
- Let them sit until crispy dry, then store mushrooms dark and airtight.
- Wipe down the mat, unplug and store for next use.
Use indoors at a dry and ventilated place.

Is the mat a fire risk?
No, the mat never gets hotter than 45°C.
If you're going on a 6 week holiday, don't leave it plugged in. But a few days are no problem.
Can you dry mushrooms in the oven?
Drying magic mushrooms in the oven is risky business.
Often, 50°C on the dial is more like 85°C in reality.
They tend to overheat very quickly, not get enough air and start "cooking".
Is this better than a fruit dryer?
Fruit dehydrators are great!
They are also noisy, electricity intense and tend to break after a few months of use.
Heat mats are cheaper and more durable, but they will take longer to fully dry mushrooms.
